ADEM issues cease and desist order to company over stormwater runoff in Baldwin County development

ELBERTA, Ala. (WALA) – The Alabama Department of Environmental Management has issued a cease and desist order to a construction company working on a project in Baldwin County.

The order was issued to Wilkes Construction Company. ADEM says the order has been issued because of improperly managed storm water runoff into Moccasin Bayou from the construction site of a subdivision the company is developing in Elberta.

The order requires the company to immediately cease all construction, building, production and related activity at the site. It adds that all other construction and related activity are not authorized to resume until approved in writing by ADEM…
