Florida trooper injured in crash while investigating accident on Highway 29

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — A 36-year-old Pensacola man was arrested after rear-ending a Florida Highway Patrol trooper’s vehicle early Sunday morning on Highway 29 in Pensacola.

The incident took place at approximately 6:21 a.m. as the 27-year-old trooper was investigating a previous crash just south of West Roberts Road.

The trooper had initially responded to the earlier crash around 5:15 a.m. and was completing the investigation when his vehicle was struck by an SUV over an hour later. Both the trooper and the SUV’s driver, Deondrez White, sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital…
