Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons said investigators took the victim’s girlfriend, 37-year-old Shana Gulley, into custody for an outstanding warrant.
“She also had a warrant for domestic violence on the same victim of the homicide,” Sheriff Simmons said. “We were able to talk to her [Tuesday] morning, serve the warrant on her for domestic violence, but the homicide investigation remains.”
According to the sheriff’s office, Gulley has two prior arrests for domestic issues against Preyer. So far, Gulley has not been charged in Preyer’s death. The sheriff added that Gulley declined to speak to investigators about the homicide.
