SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. — The county says the loud noises from the Santa Rosa Energy Center on Thursday and Friday were caused during an unexpected shutdown of the facility.
“While shutting down, for equipment safety reasons, steam that normally is sent to the steam turbine to produce electricity was vented for a short period of time,” Santa Rosa County said in a release Friday afternoon. “Everything at the plant operated as designed and was safely shutdown.
