Two Escambia County schools add free healthcare services

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — West Pensacola Elementary and Brentwood Elementary Schools have been selected to be a part of the county’s ‘Healthy Schools Escambia,’ an initiative approved by Escambia Children’s Trust, that will provide students with free healthcare services at school.

Okaloosa County hospital responds after nurses vote to unionize

Although the official start is marked for the week of Sept. 15, ‘Healthy Schools Escambia’ has already begun to help students at West Pensacola Elementary and their families.

“We have had some families in need, clothing, food have been provided,” West Pensacola Elementary Principal Christine Baker said. “Last night, we had an open house, and ‘Healthy Schools Escambia’ purchased dinner for families.”

Principal Baker said the administration will soon send medical forms to students so they can become eligible for the proper care at school…
