Florida House District 3 Representative Nathan Boyles, during tomorrow evening’s Santa Rosa County Northwest Florida Legislative Delegation Hearing, will propose legislation to adjust the taxing authority of Avalon Beach–Mulat and Pace Fire Districts to restrict certain previously approved fire rate increases.
Boyles’ proposal would:
- restore long-standing exemption from property taxes for churches and religious institutions;
- reduce excessive assessments on local businesses with large square footage facilities;
- provide tax relief to homeowners, especially in the Avalon Beach–Mulat Fire District, who recently saw double-digit rate increases.
The proposal ensures that Pace and Avalon Beach–Mulat Fire Districts will continue to have the ability to
provide adequate fire response and emergency services, while protecting local residents, businesses, and churches…
