PENSACOLA, Fla. — A Pensacola man who was previously acquitted of attempted murder due to insanity is back behind bars for allegedly stalking a Pensacola State College professor.
Charles Watts, 39, was arrested on Sept. 27 on charges of stalking and aggravated stalking after injunction (two counts). He’s being held in Escambia County Jail on $60,000 bond.
In October 2020, according to an arrest report, Watts struck his girlfriend five times over the head with a hatchet during an argument inside his Langley Avenue home. The report states Watts accused her of kidnapping his twin children, although they had not lived in Florida or with Watts for several years.
