Florida Highway Patrol troopers arrested an Alabama man in Escambia County Oct. 10 under Florida’s “super speeder” law for driving over 130 mph on Interstate 110 and then hitting another car on Interstate 10.
FHP said they arrested 24-year-old Daniel Powell for DUI and a super speeder violation around midnight when they conducted a traffic stop near mile marker 8.
“Mr. Daniel Josiah Powell was driving 131 mph in a 65 mph zone northbound on Interstate 110,” the FHP report said. “While attempting to conduct a traffic stop but prior to activation of lights and sirens, Mr. Powell rear-ended another vehicle at mile marker 8 on Interstate 10.”…
