HizashiCon returns to Foo Foo Fest with anime, J-pop and more

The Japan-America Society of Northwest Florida is thrilled to announce the return of HizashiCon, Pensacola’s celebration of Japanese anime, pop culture and music. Following the success of its inaugural year in 2024, HizashiCon 2025 promises to be bigger and even more exciting as part of the official lineup of Foo Foo Fest.

The family-friendly convention takes place Friday, Oct. 31, through Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, bringing together anime fans, music lovers, cosplayers and pop culture enthusiasts for an unforgettable Halloween weekend. HizashiCon, named for the Japanese word for “sunshine,” reflects both the spirit of the event and its sunny Pensacola home.

“We’re so excited to bring HizashiCon back even bigger and better this year,” said Savannah Mikus, JAS board member and HizashiCon committee chair. “Last year, HizashiCon drew visitors from 11 states, with more than a quarter of attendees traveling more than 100 miles. This aligns with Foo Foo Fest’s goal of boosting shoulder-season tourism, and we can’t wait to do it again.”…
