PENSACOLA, Fla. – Auburn soccer is set to make its 30th SEC Tournament appearance when it faces LSU in the opening round of the conference knockouts this Sunday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. CT at the Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex in Pensacola, Florida.
“LSU are the red-hot team right now, particularly from an attacking standpoint,” Auburn head coach James Armstrong said. “They’ve hit some momentum since playing us. Them beating us here gives us a little bit of fuel to want to repay the favor down at the beach. We’re looking forward to the opportunity to have a rematch and hopefully earn a result against a high RPI opponent.”
The return of postseason marks the return of overtime. If teams are squared through the regulation 90 minutes, two 10-minute overtime periods ensue. The golden goal rule will be in effect, meaning when one team scores in overtime, the match is over.
