28-year-old Pensacola man sentenced to 60 years for fentanyl trafficking, striking deputy

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — A 28-year-old Pensacola man was sentenced to 60 years in state prison for several charges, including trafficking Fentanyl and ramming a deputy vehicle.

Honorable Judge John F. Simon Jr. sentenced Derrell Roman on charges of:

  • Trafficking in Fentanyl
  • Attempted Aggravated Battery of a Law Enforcement Officer
  • Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Sale, Manufacture, or Deliver a Controlled Substance
  • two counts of Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer

“During sentencing, Judge Simon took note of the Defendant’s extensive criminal history and the dangerousness of the Defendant’s actions,” a release states.
