“On October 28, 1935, Pensacola City Council voted to buy the airport for $50,000 from Francis W. Taylor and the deed was officially recorded in circuit court on November 1, 1935.
Almost immediately the WPA authorized $129,350 for improvements to the airport, including the construction of an airport administration building and three paved runways.
