New recycling facility in Orange Beach gets major funding

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — The Solid Waste Disposal Authority of Baldwin County has been awarded a major grant through the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act, according to officials.

New SNAP restrictions go into place amid shutdown drama

According to an SWDA news release, the authority will receive $1,500,224 to support the development of the Orange Beach Center for Hard to Recycle Materials Facility, which will improve access to recycling and sustainability throughout the county.

“Once complete, the Orange Beach CHaRM will provide residents and visitors with a centralized, accessible location to properly dispose of recyclable materials, reducing landfill waste and promoting cleaner coastal habitats,” the release said…
