West Florida High equips students with hands-on trade skills to reverse worker shortage

PENSACOLA, Fla. — On Tuesday, WEAR News showed you how Florida’s construction industry is struggling to find skilled workers to keep up with demand.

Now, we’re getting a look inside an Escambia County classroom helping to fill the gap. West Florida High School’s Energy Academy helps students gain hands-on experience from electrical to plumbing.
