PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A Northwest Florida nonprofit is asking the community for heaters, blankets, and money to keep seniors warm during the winter.
Santa Rosa County sets hours for Veterans Day
The Council on Aging of West Florida is collecting new electric space heaters and blankets.
According to the First Alert Storm Team, a cold front will move through the area on Sunday, leading temperatures to drop into the 30s by Monday morning and 20s by Tuesday.
“Older adults are especially vulnerable to serious health problems that can result from exposure to the cold, as those over 60 often create less body heat due to slower metabolism and less physical activity,” according to the CAWF news release.
