The 7-and-9-year-old children found dead inside a mobile home this week were fatally stabbed before their killer set the home on fire, Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons told the News Journal.
Suspect John Walston remains in Escambia County Jail as he awaits his pretrial detention hearing. Walston was arrested for two counts of first-degree premeditated murder, one count of first-degree arson, one count of sexual assault of a child under 12 and one misdemeanor count of animal cruelty.
There is no familial relationship between the children and Walston, just friends in a small neighborhood on Flaxman Street in a Myrtle Grove mobile home community…
