A former Pensacola thoracic surgeon convicted of rape died while serving his prison sentence.
According to Florida Department of Corrections records, Francis Herrbold died while serving his eight-year sentence at the Walton Correctional Institution.
The FDOC provided the following response to the News Journal: “Inmate Francis Herrbold was pronounced deceased on Nov. 10, 2025, while assigned to Walton CI.”…
