PPD says arrest of homeless advocate feeding hungry in park was last resort

A prominent Pensacola advocate for homeless issues was arrested while providing meals to people in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza the day after Thanksgiving, and many of his supporters have taken to social media to call for the charges to be dropped.

Mike Kimberl was arrested and charged with resisting an officer without violence and being in a city park after it was closed in the evening of Nov. 28. Both of the charges are misdemeanors…
