Pensacola police warn on how to protect purchases from holiday shopping theft

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — It’s the most wonderful and the busiest time of the year.

As shoppers head to the stores for their holiday purchasing, the Pensacola Police Department wants to remind everyone to stay wary of potential theft at both their homes and in store parking lots.

“We will keep an eye on the shopping centers both in uniform and plain clothes officers,” Pensacola Police Public Information Officer Mike Wood said. “The key to shopping, though at night, is to go in pairs; the more numbers, the safer you are, just be aware of your surroundings.”
