Animal shelters in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties are going all out this month to encourage residents to bring a pet home for the holidays.
Escambia County is sponsoring an event called Home for the Holidays while Santa Rosa County is working to “Empty the Shelter.”
Through the Dec. 15 both organizations are working alongside the Bissell Pet Foundation, a national animal welfare organization dedicated to finding homes for pets. Empty the Shelters is the nation’s largest funded adoption event and has helped more than 374,000 pets find homes across the U.S. and Canada since its inception in 2016, according to a news release issued by Santa Rosa County…
