Pensacola man found guilty of animal abuse

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A man from Pensacola has been found guilty of aggravated animal abuse and discharging a firearm on residential property.

According to a news release from the Office of the State Attorney, First Judicial Circuit of Florida, a jury found Joseph Henry Broxson, 23, guilty of his charges.

Broxson was arrested on Dec. 30, 2024, for shooting his neighbor’s dog on Dec. 29, 2024.

On the morning of the shooting, the neighbor’s 1-year-old dog named Tank and another dog made their way into Broson’s backyard after getting out of their respective fenced-in yards.

Broxson claimed the dogs were “snooping around” and barked and growled at him. He went into his arm and retrieved his gun…
