A Minute with Drexel: A Different Christmas

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) – Do you celebrate Christmas the same way every year? Lots of us do. Then, there’s that year that’s just a little different. The decorations go up late, or come down early. Traditions fall by the wayside for one reason or another. But do the differences have to change the “spirit” of the holiday? That’s the topic of this week’s Minute with Drexel.

Hey, y’all and Merry Christmas! It’s hard to believe that Christmas is just four days away! This year is a little different for me. Usually, I decorate early, have a tree in every room, and Santa hats hung on everything! This year, travel and work kept me from the elaborate planning and decorating. You see that little table behind me? That’s as good as it’s gonna get at Drexel’s house this year!

This got me to thinking about traditions and what Christmas is all about. I do love the lights and candles and trees and goodness knows I love the Santa hats, but what I love most is spending the holiday with people who make it special, and in knowing and understanding the reason we celebrate.I find my reason in the book of Luke, chapter 2, verses 10-12.
