Local Heroes Step Up: Firefighters, Leaders, and Volunteers Make Holidays Brighter in Pensacola

It was truly a joy to witness and be part of a day that so beautifully reflected the heart of our community during the ‘Heroes & Helpers’ Holiday Event in Pensacola.

The Escambia County Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 4131 led the way in the ‘Heroes and Helpers’ program at Target Pensacola NE Store #1273, making the holidays that much brighter for 42 local children.

In collaboration with the generous support of Target, Fat Albert’s Rugby Team, Navy Federal Credit Union, Commissioners Ashlee Hofberger (District 4) and Steve Stroberger (District 1), and the Escambia County Professional Firefighters Charity, children enjoyed a special holiday shopping spree totaling more than $6,400. Commissioner Ashlee Hofberger serves District Four, where many of the children attend Ferry Pass Elementary School, making her involvement especially meaningful and close to home.

The celebration continued well beyond the shopping experience. Families were welcomed with a hot, comforting holiday meal featuring turkey, ham, and all the trimmings, generously provided and prepared by the dedicated team from Pensacola EggFest…
