A new Japanese anime-style restaurant has replaced the former Nori Japanese Sushi & Grill at 1741 E. Nine Mile Road, Otaku Japanese Cuisine, which celebrated its soft opening on Dec. 24.
Robin Stop, chef and part-owner of Otaku, has transformed the space to offer a fresh, modern feel for younger diners, with everything from anime-style art on the walls to creative menu items. Think sushi tacos with crisp seaweed shells, smothered in sauces and toppings, along with traditional classics like warm ramen bowls.
Stop invited the public in for a soft opening starting at 11 a.m. on Christmas Eve to experience all they had been working on. Since it is only their soft opening, not all menu items are available yet as they wait for deliveries to arrive, Otaku shared in a social media statement…
