Pensacola first responders ‘light up’ Studer Family Children’s Hospital for Christmas

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — When thinking about Christmas, people tend to think about gathering at home with friends and family, but many families, including children, spent their Christmas at the hospital.

First responders in Pensacola and Escambia County gathered in front of Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart on Christmas Eve to bring a little bit of holiday joy to those at the hospital.

Emergency vehicles from fire to police and others filled the entrance to the hospital with lights flashing, producing a unique light show for those in the hospital.

“I hope it’s just a little bit of a bright spot when they’re stuck here,” Pensacola Police Deputy Chief Erik Goss said. “You know we’re used to working during Christmas and not being home, but these kids aren’t, these families aren’t.”…
