American Magic unveils new $20 million dollar high performance center in Pensacola

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — In collaboration with the Port of Pensacola, the American Magic yacht racing team unveiled a new $20 million high-performance center designed to serve as a long-term hub for maritime operations and economic growth along Pensacola Bay.

The 56,000-square-foot facility will be used for training, manufacturing and ocean research, to name a few, and offers direct access to the Pensacola Bay. The center features racing yachts, repair rooms and a weightlifting gym.

Pensacola Director of Economic Development Erika Grancagnolo said the project is expected to bring significant economic benefits to the city.

“So what does this mean from an economic standpoint? It means 170, high-wage, cutting-edge jobs,” said Grancagnolo. “It means that our kids will have opportunities in the engineering and technology fields here in Pensacola that can’t be found anywhere else here in the U.S.”…
