University of West Florida picks decorated lawman as new police chief

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — University of West Florida administrators have named the school’s new police chief.

A school news release said Roman Jackson will take over as chief of police following Marc Cossich’s retirement.

The release said Jackson has had leadership experience in patrol operations, criminal investigations and strategic planning through the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.
