Mike and Heather Ensley were among the several hundred people who gathered at the intersection of Palafox and Garden streets in downtown Pensacola to protest Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), one of more than 300 protests taking place across the country.
The protests are part of the National Day of Action that were organized in response to two recent fatal shootings by federal agents in Minnesota. Organizers encouraged a “no work, no school, no shopping” strike to oppose immigration crackdown policies.
Along with protesting on Palafox, the Ensley’s closed their specialty boutique store, Phantasma on Creighton Road, in support of the strike, but kept the doors open for those who wanted to participate in it…
