Mayor D.C. Reeves Represents Pensacola on National Stage at United States Conference of Mayors

Mayor D.C. Reeves arrived in Washington, D.C. last week for the United States Conference of Mayors. He was ready to get to work but was quickly reminded that the highest office in the city is often unglamorous.

It started with a four-hour delay in Atlanta. He was booked to three different D.C. area airports in a matter of an hour, trying to find a way to get to important meetings representing Pensacola the next morning. Then came a 1:30 a.m. arrival, followed by the discovery that his luggage didn’t make it.

A few hours later, after a scrambling trip to Macy’s for a new suit and with a required sense of humor, Reeves leaned into his full schedule and got straight to business.

“The shopping spree was swift,” Reeves joked. “But every moment with federal leadership is important. The list of things to accomplish was long, and I’m feeling good about every meeting we had.”…
