Florida man indicted on drug and firearm charges

PENSACOLA, Florida — Scott D. Oranje, a 52-year-old from Mary Ester, Florida, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges including possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and firearm-related offenses.

Oranje appeared for his arraignment in federal court before United States Magistrate Judge Zachary C. Bolitho in Pensacola. His jury trial is scheduled for March 2, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. before District Court Judge M. Casey Rodgers. If convicted, Oranje faces a minimum of five years to a maximum of 40 years in prison for the fentanyl charge, a minimum of five years to life for the firearm possession in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense, and up to 15 years for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The case is the result of a joint investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Christopher C.
