MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Styx River Parrot Rescue is a a 501c3 tax exemption Non-profit Organization. The organization provides a safe, permanent, happy space for any exotic and non indigenous bird species in need of a forever home. Though not yet open to the public, Styx River Parrot Rescue is currently taking in birds and donations.
The second phase of the organization’s mission is piloting a program to utilize birds as service animals for the treatment of PTSD in veterans, first responders, battered women and others suffering in silence.
