Isaiah Waters Is Building His Own Way Forward

In a yard not far from Davis Highway, a used shipping container is becoming something entirely different. Where most people see steel, dents, and rust, Isaiah Waters saw possibility.

Nearly two years ago, Isaiah began building a tiny home in his parents’ yard outside the house he grew up in. He made it a goal to create a place he could truly call his own. He didn’t have construction experience. He didn’t have a massive budget. What he did have was determination, YouTube-level curiosity, and a grandfather who had spent a career in construction.

“I don’t know what I’m doing,” Isaiah said with a laugh. “But my grandpa does.”

That grandfather, known in the family as Paw Paw, became an invaluable guide. While Isaiah brought the vision, Paw Paw helped translate it into plans and practical steps. The project officially began in January 2024, and the first phase had nothing glamorous about it: clearing trees and digging pier footings two feet into the ground, each sitting on three-by-three concrete pads…
