The burn is taking place on about 80 acres of company property off Pearl Ridge Road along Woodbine Road, according to the utility.

The Florida Forest Service has approved the operation, and prescribed fire personnel are on site, News 5 has learned.

“Prescribed fire plays a critical role in reducing the accumulation of vegetative fuel, which can become dangerously high and increase wildfire risk,” the utility said in a news release.
