Pensacola man gets 2 years in prison after running from traffic stop, dropping loaded gun

PENSACOLA, Fla. — A 23-year-old Pensacola man has been sentenced to more than two years in federal prison on Wednesday after authorities say he ran from deputies during a traffic stop and dropped a loaded handgun.

Isaiah Markeis Sims was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison following his guilty plea to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida.
