Pensacola man arrested after pursuit on Blue Angel Parkway

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WALA) – A switched tag led to an attempted traffic stop and a pursuit resulting in a crash and an arrest overnight, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

It began just before 1 a.m. on North Blue Angel Parkway in Escambia County. The FHP said a trooper saw an SUV with a Florida registration tag that did not belong to the vehicle. The trooper attempted to stop the SUV, but the driver fled, the highway patrol said.

During the pursuit, the driver traveled off the roadway and crashed into a fence at the intersection of Patricia Drive and Oakcliff Road.

The driver, 46-year-old Marvin Thomas of Pensacola, was not injured in the crash, officials said…
