PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) – Pensacola Habitat for Humanity along with several community partners officially broke ground on Hancock Meadows, A new housing development aimed at easing the affordable housing crisis in Escambia County
“Many hard-working families including teachers and healthcare workers and service employees are being priced out of the housing market,” said District 4 County Commissioner Ashlee Hofberger. “They earn too much to qualify for traditional assistance but not enough to afford homes at today’s market price.”
For years, Pensacola Habitat has been building homes across the area. But this is the first new development the organization has built in about two decades. Hancock Meadows will include 33 homes total, including six rental homes set aside for military families…
