Eyesore to coffee shop? Clock ticking on old Checkers in Warrington

The owner of the old Checker’s restaurant in Warrington has asked Escambia County Code Enforcement for more time before demolishing the deteriorating building because a potential new owner may want it for a coffee shop.

According to Escambia County Code Enforcement, the owner of the old restaurant at 4200 Barrancas Ave. told a code enforcement officer in February 2026 that “they are about to sell the property to a new owner who plans to make it into a coffee shop.”

The property is currently owned by an LLC called Larch Avenue – DB4 with an address in West Palm Beach, Florida…
