Thousands Gather For Mullet Toss Weekend Celebration

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — The Interstate Mullet Toss officially begins today on the white sands of Perdido Key. This annual gathering is widely known as the Gulf Coast’s greatest beach party. Thousands of visitors are traveling to the state line to watch the weekend festival. The iconic event features participants throwing dead fish from Florida into Alabama for charity.

The event runs from today, Friday, April 24, 2026, through Sunday, April 26, 2026. Daily tossing begins at 10 a.m. The toss is simple. Participants stand in a 10-foot circle in Florida and throw a dead mullet toward Alabama.

Children toss from 10 a.m. to noon each day. Adults toss from noon to 4 p.m. Flora-Bama lists an owners and celebrity toss at 4 p.m. daily. Awards are scheduled during the afternoon. Flora-Bama says children and adults 61 and older have awards at 2 p.m. each day. Adult awards are scheduled for 4:30 p.m…
