Florida’s oldest Jewish congregation marks 150 years in Pensacola

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Florida’s oldest Jewish congregation is marking 150 years, and it’s right here in Pensacola.

Temple Beth El is a stately 1931 Art Deco building standing at the entrance to Pensacola’s North Hill neighborhood. It’s one of the few Art Deco structures in this part of the state, and it’s home to Florida’s first Jewish congregation.
