Conshohocken man draws prison for assaulting disabled man with a wheelchair

NORRISTOWN — Calling a Conshohocken man’s conduct “cruel” and particularly “onerous,” a judge sent him to prison for assaulting a disabled man, a onetime friend who he believed had broken a so-called “Bro-Code” by befriending his ex-girlfriend.

“His prosthesis was off. To attack him in the middle of the night is cruel. That’s more onerous than usual,” Montgomery County Judge Steven T. O’Neill said as he sentenced Michael Anthony Longo to 3½ to 8 years in state prison.

Longo, 41, of the 1300 block of Colwell Lane, pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated assault and burglary in connection with the April 27, 2024, incident during which Longo broke into a Worcester Township man’s home and assaulted the man with his own wheelchair.
