Bucks County Officials Share Thoughts, Concerns Related to Expansion of Nearby Airport

Yardley Borough and Lower Makefield Township officials have joined the protest against the expansion of Trenton-Mercer Airport over concerns of a negative impact on air, water, and noise quality, writes Greg Vellner for The Reporter.

The FAA has already approved a plan to quadruple the airport’s size and allow the increase of flights by 51 percent to 476,507 take-offs annually by 2035, despite mounting opposition from stakeholders in the area.

Among those who were taking a stand against this expansion was U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, who asked that federal funding for the pact be suspended until a study on environmental effects on nearby Bucks County communities can be completed…
