PHILADELPHIA (KTAL/KMSS) — Social media users are expressing heartbreak and frustration after a Philadelphia mother spoke out about the disappearance of her 14-year-old son during a school trip to the Jersey Shore.
Davoris Carter III disappeared on June 1, 2026, after entering the Atlantic Ocean during a class trip to Wildwood, New Jersey, according to officials. Three other swimmers were rescued, but Davoris never returned to shore.
His mother, Shyara Hill, recently told local media that she believes more should have been done to protect her son and questioned the level of supervision provided during the trip. Hill said Davoris was just two days away from graduating from Delta School in Philadelphia…
