Man accused of stealing ashes of Willow Grove woman’s dead daughter, demanding ransom

UPPER MORELAND — A New York man is accused of stealing an urn containing the ashes of an Upper Moreland Township woman’s deceased daughter and holding them for ransom for the $8,000 that he claimed the woman owed him.

Nuo Chen, 30, of the 4300 block of 195th Street, Flushing, N.Y., faces felony charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and theft by extortion in connection with the alleged plot.
