Rideshare driver shot while waiting to pick up passenger in North Philly

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A rideshare driver was shot and injured during an attempted robbery in North Philadelphia early Saturday morning.

Police said around 12:30 a.m., the 38-year-old driver was waiting to pick up a passenger at North 28th and Poplar streets when two people approached her car and tapped on the driver’s side window with a small handgun.

She attempted to drive away, and that’s when one of the suspects shot at the window. She was struck in the shoulder…
