Heavy rain causes flooding across NJ, forcing road closures & stranding vehicles

Heavy rain caused flooding in several parts of New Jersey on Sunday, leaving roads underwater, stranding vehicles and prompting officials to close streets and urge residents to avoid flooded areas.

In Monmouth County, floodwaters inundated parts of Deal, where fire hydrants were nearly submerged and several small cars became stranded in high water. Police asked residents on Edgemont Drive to move their vehicles away from the Deal Lake area.
