Mr. Wish shut down by the Philadelphia Department of Health

On Thursday, July 30, a notice was posted on the front door of Mr. Wish, stating that it had to cease operations. According to the Philadelphia Department of Health, the bubble tea shop failed “to comply with Title 6 Chapter 300 of the Philadelphia Code,” resulting in an order to close.

Title 6 Chapter 300 of the Philadelphia Code is an ordinance on food safety. At the time of publication, it was unclear which specific regulation Mr. Wish violated. The popular chain serves a variety of bubble tea and fruit tea drinks.

The closure of Mr. Wish comes just weeks after Boba King, another popular bubble tea spot on campus, shut down. It also marks another closure of a food spot on campus, following the shutdown of El Taco, D.P. Dough and Wawa earlier this year…
