A 24-year-old Oaklyn man was arrested and charged after he barricaded himself following a burglary in Pine Hill on Tuesday, Aug. 18, authorities said.
At 1:30 a.m., officers responded to the Chalet Gardens Apartments for a burglary after the suspect, Vimere Kearney, entered through the kitchen window, police said. Kearney was confronted by the residents of the apartment and fled prior to police arrival, officers said.
While searching for Kearney, officers were dispatched for an additional burglary in progress at a second apartment in Chalet Gardens Apartments, police said. Officers arrived quickly and determined the residents and Kearny, armed with a knife, were still within the apartment, police said.
