Search for Gunman After Shooting on Market Street El Platform in West Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — Police are urgently seeking assistance from the public following a shooting incident that occurred on the Market Street El platform in West Philadelphia on Sunday morning.

The incident, which took place at approximately 9:27 a.m., involved a 51-year-old man who was shot multiple times. According to police reports, the victim was exiting a train at the 52nd Street Station, located along the 5100 block of Market Street, when the shooting occurred.

Law enforcement officials have released a surveillance image of the suspect believed to be involved in the shooting. Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim and the suspected gunman were involved in a confrontation on a westbound train just prior to the shooting. As the victim disembarked from the train, the gunman reportedly fired several shots, hitting the victim in the back.

The injured man was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where he is currently listed in critical but stable condition. As of now, the police have not disclosed the identity of the victim.
