CLAYMONT, Delaw. – Customers with disabilities can now enjoy a more convenient and comfortable shopping experience at the Wawa located at 601 Naamans Rd, just off the Exit 11, Delaware 92; Naamans Road, I-95. The store has recently completed a project to install a new ramp and a safety railing at its entrance, making it easier for customers with mobility challenges to access the store.
The ramp and railing project is part of Wawa’s commitment to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers, regardless of their abilities. The store manager, said that the project was initiated after receiving feedback from some customers who faced difficulties entering the store using wheelchairs, walkers, or crutches. He said that the store wanted to address the issue as soon as possible and make the necessary improvements to ensure that every customer can shop at Wawa with ease and dignity.
The new ramp and railing are designed to meet the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which requires public facilities to be accessible for people with disabilities. The ramp has a gentle slope and a non-slip surface, while the railing provides support and stability for customers who need assistance.
