6 people arrested, facing charges following raid in Kensington

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, working with Philadelphia police, arrested six people during a raid in Kensington Thursday.

Authorities seized cash, guns, and a wide variety of drugs and drug paraphernalia. A spokesman for the Attorney General’s Office said it was primarily a cocaine, fentanyl and firearms sting and called the seizures “significant.”

The defendants are 24-year-old Jose de La Cruz, 32-year-old Jose de La Cruz, 24-year-old Anneury de La Cruz, 18-year-old Jahmire Johnson, 36-year-old Edward Murphy and 20-year-old Gianna Smith.

They were arrested at three locations in Kensington after an investigation by the Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics.

They are charged with racketeering, conspiracy, and drug and gun offenses. Their bail has been set at $250-$750,000.
